LG TwinWash at Best Buy

The LG TwinWash system has a large front loader with a small washer in the pedestal. What a genius use of space! I love that you can wash something in the small pedestal washer at the same time as the front loader up top! These were definitely designed with active, busy families in mind. I’m not surprised that LG washers and dryers are chosen over other brands by most consumers!

We are in the stage of parenting where potty training is right around the corner for our youngest. I can’t tell you how handy the LG SideKick pedestal washer would have been during the potty training years with Ada & Lola! When those accidents happen, being able to throw the wet clothes into the wash immediately without wasting water would be a lifesaver. I also think using it for our workout clothes right after a sweaty workout would be perfect! No more sitting in the hamper (gross) until I get to them.

Electric and gas options

Our house was built in 1965 and is predominately electric. It was all the rage back the! We had a seal on the doorbell that said, “Happy families run on electricity” or something like that.

Our washer and dryer are electric and came with the house, so who knows how old they are! They’re noisy and I can’t wait for the day that we can get a new LG washer and dryer. My mom was over the other night while I was washing a small area rug and we heard all of this noise and ruckus coming from the laundry room! She asked what it was and I said, “Oh probably just my husband banging around in the garage.” Turns out my husband was outside and it was the washer rattling around with the rug in it! Like I said, I can’t wait until we can get a new LG laundry system in there! One home project at a time :)

Check out LG’s incredible products here and remember that through April 25th you can get up to $500 off a LG laundry solution for your home!

bObsweep, My New Best Friend

This post is in partnership with bObsweep. I received a super sweet robotic vacuum to facilitate my review. As always, all opinions are 100% my own!

You guys. I have a new best friend. Sorry, babe! His name is bOb. The bObsweep PetHair Plus, to be exact.bobsweep-karainthekitchen-com-2He lives here, underneath June’s baby swing. When he’s done roaming my house, I push the charge button and he goes back to his dock all by himself. Since we have a dog, we have been loving bOb! For some reason, Maverick’s fur gathers into little dust bunnies and settles in the hall. bObsweep PetHair cruises down the hall and picks them up while I can be doing other things. Feeding the baby, working, cleaning, sleeping, staring at my phone, eating, you get the idea! bobsweep-karainthekitchen-com [Continue Reading…]

Steve’s Central Coast Detailing

When we got our Tahoe, it needed to be detailed. You know how even when things are “clean” they still need to be cleaned to your standards? I deep clean every time we move into a new house no matter how clean it appears! Anyway, I’d looked online and saw great reviews about Steve’s Central Coast Detailing, so I messaged to see if he’d be interested in doing it for us.Steve's Detailing (1 of 1)Right off the bat, I was impressed with his professionalism. He and his employee showed up right on time and immediately got to work. On a holiday nonetheless! I loved that they came to my house, too. It was so nice to be able to get things done inside my home while I knew my car was being professionally cleaned right in the driveway. Steve's Detailing (1 of 1)-2They worked hard and efficiently side by side. I loved that Steve had a card reader right there on his phone to pay with. Signed with my finger and had the receipt emailed to me. Easy peasy! He also offers gift certificates if you are searching for the perfect gift for someone!Steve's Detailing (1 of 1)-3 I’m big on smells (read: very sensitive to them and creepily good at describing them), so I was pleased that the car smelled brand new when they were done and to see that it had piña colada air fresheners in it! One of my favorite smells. I just saw that he’s got a coconut & vanilla one now, too ;) Steve's Detailing (1 of 1)-4

If you are between San Luis Obispo and Santa Ynez on the Central Coast, I highly recommend Steve’s Central Coast Detailing. Check them out on Facebook & Instagram too, their work speaks for itself!

It’s The Little Things in Life

When I was growing up, Saturday was our day for chores. We would usually have a soccer game in the morning, then we’d have to come home and clean our bathroom, change our sheets, and take care of our responsibilities before we could go play with our friends. I found some great tips on how to organize our home on https://www.maidcomplete.com/blog/organization/6-tips-to-stay-organized-for-the-disorganized/. Now that I have my own household, Saturdays are a day that I want to spend with my family because Matt is off work. And I’d prefer to not spend it doing housework, although sometimes it has to happen that way.

I know that on most days, I feel like it is 4 against 1. I am the one trying to keep the house clean, and there’s a husband, a 4-year-old, a 2 1/2-year-old, and a puppy that are all trying to do the exact opposite! Through trial and error, I have found that a little bit of work every day goes a long way for my sanity and my home. I have put into my phone calendar recurring events that need to happen each day of the week in order for my house to stay clean. It looks like this, but you can adjust it to your needs:

Monday: Bathrooms (I figure Monday is blah anyway, so why not get the worst one done and over with)

Tuesday: Dust

Wednesday: Sweep

Thursday: Mop

Friday: Catch up day (because nobody is perfect and I usually end up skipping a day for whatever reason)

Saturday: Wash sheets & towels

These chores are in addition to everything else that comes with life. Just because Wednesday is sweep day doesn’t mean that I don’t have to sweep any other day of the week. I just know that if I stay on top of these things, my house looks better and that I don’t have to clean as much each week. I try (emphasis on try here) to do a load of laundry each day from start to finish. For me, washing and drying is easy. It’s the folding and putting away that kill me! Clean clothes sit in baskets way longer than I care to admit. P&G, when are you going to send me a cute little pod that folds my clothes? ;)

Gain Fling

Tide Pods have been around for a while, and I love them. Now, there are Gain Flings too! I guess Gain laundry detergent has a huge following called Gainiacs! Ha! I never understood it until I used a Gain Fling on my Ada & Lola’s blankets and they both snuggled up with them and said they smelled like grape lollipops. (They’re both looking at Maverick in this pic) :)

Husbands love them too:

They are so small and fun! I love that there’s no mess, and that they are so easy to toss in the washer. You can find them at Target.

IMG 1270For me, doing little things every day goes a long way. Not just with my laundry, but in all areas of my life!

What little things do you do to help life go smoothly?
